• Same domain, different hosting/server, imported content (did not move database)

I moved the site, everything went just smashingly except for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get the NextGen plugin to realize that I’ve uploaded all the files from the old site to the new site, just where they were.

How do I import all the galleries? Or get the plugin to recognize the gallery images are there?

  • I have had EXACTLY the same problem today. I migrated my multisite wordpress to another server. All images not in the NextGEN plugin display normally and fine, but images that are in NextGEN galleries (and a couple that are just singularly displayed) no longer show up.

I have logged into the ftp site and checked, the images are in the same location. They have the same permissions, and the images are not corrupted (I downloaded a couple and checked them out).

    Any help is appreciated

I have just fixed it. After researching it and not finding anything concrete, I just thought I would go through and disable some plugins I don’t use. I then lost ALL images. I put a group back in and they’ve come back.

There were several plugins that I’m not sure if disabling them or reenabling them has worked. I removed: Advanced Custom Field (not relevant, I have Advanced Custom Field Pro), Custom Admin Bar, Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades, Kalin’s Post List, Multisite User Management, Simple User Management, User Access Manager, Unattach, WP Google Fonts, WPMU Global Search.

    Then I lost all images

I reinstalled WP Google Fonts, unattach, and installed Jetpack

    No change.

I added back in User Access Manager and EVERYTHING (including those things that were initially missing) has come back. The problem is, I don’t use UAM, I have nothing setup in it. So I’ve uninstalled it again, and everything is still there.

So I can’t blame or nail any one plugin, but pushing and pulling at it has seemed to be the hammer that was needed.

If you do go through and try some plugins, disabling and re-enabling, could you let me know how you go and which one’s seem to have had the greatest effect for you. I’m going to assume everyone’s milage is going to vary.

I have this problem and I can’t solve it. I have my ftp backup I will upload the same images again but I need where the hell are Alt & Title Text / Description located. I think they are not located in wp-content/gallery or /plugins/nextgen-gallery. I need those texts where are they?

Well, I uploaded the images and then reentered the Gallery names, then told the plugin to search those folders – that worked, but of course none of the shortcodes [nggallery id=?] are the same as on the previous setup. This means pictures of the Demo Team are on the post for Belt Testing. Gigantic pain in the butt!

I have to go through and guess which gallery goes with which post and change them all.

Since I obviously have a lot of work ahead of me, I’m thinking it would just be better to change plugins – find something user friendly and can be easily moved.

Does anyone know how to get the nextgen galleries into the main media library?

    @keeperbay,

How did you tell the plugin to search those folders? When I copy these folders nothing happens. And did you save Alt & Title Text / Description like this method?

    Thanks.

@keeperbay et al. – Generally when moving a site you will need to use the NextGEN Gallery Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options. In most cases this will correct the issue(s) you are seeing.

@psychobreak & @madivad – Please start new topics to address this or the additional items you are bringing forward if these issues persist after using the Reset Option.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
