Got it done. The file caption as creation date is much appreciated, suggest providing as many formats as possible.
Now my only challenge is to figure out why my system is placing wrong creation times on files I FTP upload, but that has nothing to do with your plugin. Except, if you ever deem it worthy perhaps you could include a plus or minus X hours adjustment factor for the file creation date display.

So many plugins are now unsupported and/or out of date — or even security risks! In fact, the WordPress plugin system has become somewhat of a joke in my opinion.

Please note that I use modification date (there’s no way to access creation date with php).

Perhaps you can give me a clue on solving problem with your plugin.
When I look at a test file on server (in cache folder) it has modification time of 11:14 am, when viewed using Folder Gallery the caption displays 4:12 pm.
The file originally uploaded to server has mod time of 11:12 am.
A 5 hour offset + 2 minutes. Any idea where this all could be coming from? I’m lost. I need the file caption to at least display approximately the same mod time as that of the original uploaded file.
The difference in the time stamp on the cache file is the delay in creating the cache file? That’s okay for my purpose, but otherwise I need the caption to show same hour as file time stamp.
I feel like I’m overlooking something?

The file date displayed by Folder Gallery is the last modification date, that should be the date the files are uploaded (by FTP ?) on the server. They are not related to the cache_xxx folder created by FG to store its thumbnails.
You can try to use the ISO 8601 caption format to check if the time zone is right.

The file modification time should be 08:21:xx according to what I’m seeing when I look at files on server. That appears to be an 8 hour offset.
I’m not sure what that tells me.

Yes, 5 hour offset from what’s shown when I view file modification time on server. I hope it’s a bug, as I have no idea how to fix on this side!
If it helps you, I’ve used a lot of other software that just had user configurable time offset function to compensate for this kind of stuff. But best would be if the actual file modified date/time was shown as the caption, not with 5 hour offset.

Try the new development version. It should fix the bug, at least for ModificationDate and ModificationDateAndTime options. (No fix for ISO et RFC yet)

The last dev version (1.7.1b4) should fix the timezone bug in all cases.
Working now, great job! Thanks, nice to have the correct times on our webcam stills. Makes life much easier. MTN
