I have a site with about 6 pages. I dont really like the wordpress menu, i want my site to be more flexible, so i want to add links to my pages in the main body of the page rather than in the header. its easy to do in word, maybe I am missing something??

It depends on the theme. So you want a menu in the sidebar rather than in the header?

From within the editor for the page where you want to add the link:
    – select the text you want to use as the link
    – click the Insert/edit link icon in the toolbar
    – complete the dialog as desired
    – note that you can easily select existing pages and posts from the list
    – click Add Link
    – click Publish or Update (for the page/post)

Thanks Very much, such a simple thing i missed as i was looking for plugins and widgets etc.

Any idea how i can create drop down menu’s?

    Thanks Keith

@keithsmythe, I don’t think dropdown menus are supported in widget custom menus. You can add sub-links though.
