I’ve tried to activate the Fancybox effect, but it’s not working.
Do I need to use a complementary plugin to make it work?

@carol – The Lightbox Effects bundled with NextGEN Gallery are done as a convenience, you may need to work with their respective authors to translate them into the language of your choice.
As to the Fancybox effect not working, I cannot say … have you checked for possible conflicts with other active plugins or perhaps your current theme?
