Membership/Group Management quandry

Hi Everyone,

I am posting here for lack of knowledge where to post. If it belongs somewhere else please educate me!

I am building a site which is basically a project management website. I need a way for different members of the site to be able to ‘register’ for these projects (many times more than one). I can’t seem to find a good solution especially for the ‘many times more than one project’ aspect.

Most of the plugins I have tried allow for different membership levels but that is not really what I am looking for. I basically want to have the users register for the project groups they are involved with and have an easy way to manage, as an admin, these registration groups. The users would be restricted to the pages and other content that they are involved with.

Does anyone have any advise for me? I figure there must be something like this out there, I just cannot seem to find it.
