buttons-for-website.com

Hi there,
I get some referral from buttons-for-website.com. It seems to be related to your plugin. Am I right?
Can you explain why I am getting some visitors from this website?
Thanks!

I’m seeing this url “buttons-for-websites” in my statcounter traffic reports preceding my various websites url’s
the visitors are from multiple locations worldwide??????
this seems wrong?! something fishy?UPDATE
it seems from some research I’ve done that this is a spam referrer – something new for me … it’s not a word press issue (yet) in my caseOK … this MAY help – DISCLAIMER!!!!
I’m going to try it as an apache directive om my server substituting the offending url(s) for spamsite.com(s) I’m a linux guy & I think windows server users have to be cautious – may effect frontpage# Options +FollowSymlinks

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://(www\.)?spamsite4.com.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule .* – [F,L]Not sure if it’s related but this website looks like Juiz plugin… I have contacted the plugin creator just to make sure it’s not related since he is using third party API.
I just started to notice this referral 3 days ago. I get 2 to 4 referrals from them everyday since then…
This just started happening to my site too. I see it on my stat counter. Not sure what to do.
I liked the place and movement of those so called social buttons, so I did put the script on my site. I.e. http://www.vakantiehuisverhuur.eu.
Not being a professional in this matter, could this script be malevolent?Regards

NetherlandsHi there,
Sorry for the delay, but I propose this plugin freely, and can’t be always connected in the support forum to give free support (Puda? ;p)
How can I help? (really)
I checked this website, I didn’t find the relation with my plugin in any way…Why those visits from this website are problematic? I don’t understand.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.@Geofrrey
Thanks for your reply.“Why those visits from this website are problematic? I don’t understand.”
Well, as long as it is not malicious, me neither. But isn’t it. Anyone?
I don’t think so.
A referrer is just a reference. My plugin doesn’t guide your user to this website, but some are coming from this website, if I understand. You can’t fight against someone linking to your website :p
I think it’s not malicious, btw.
@geoffrey
Thanks again and sorry to be not specific enough. Is it malicious? I did not mean to refer to those statcounter based findings but to using the javascript found on that buttons-for-website.com site. It says “<script src=”//sharebutton.net/plugin/sharebutton.vertical.js”></script>”
That worries me more. But as I already said before, I am not a professional, maybe it can do no harm at all.
It’s just a referrer, not a referred site from your website.
Your visiters don’t know this information, just you are touched by this information. What is http://sharebutton.net/? This website doesn’t seem to be malicious 🙂
Good luck.
One problem is I have been getting a 100% bounce rate with 0 time spent on the page which of course affects your rankings.
By the way I am not using your plugin so it must have came from elsewhere.
If you don’t use my plugin, the problem can’t came from it…
Try the apache with .htaccess solution proposed previously.Thank you.
Go2green it won’t affect your ranking at all. Usually you get 00 min when a person just went on one page of your site and bounce.

I have also started receiving hits from this website but I don’t have the plugin. Perhaps it’s something else entirely?
