• I’ve seen this question a few times, and thought I’d share a solution that worked seamlessly for me just recently.

I migrated all sidebars created with Content Aware Sidebars using an awesome plugin called ‘Widget Importer & Exporter’ https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-importer-exporter/

All sidebars came in perfectly to the new host! You export a ‘.wie’ file from your old site and then import to the new host using the plugin and voila!

Big thanks to Joachim for an indispensable plugin and to Steven Gliebe for another that makes migration a pleasure! Hope this helps anyone needing to migrate their sidebars!

Also meant to say, this is a great way to back up your sidebars whenever you make a change to them.

Thanks for your kind words, and thanks for your tip! I will definitely look into that plugin myself.

I’m glad you found the widget importer to work well with this plugin. Thanks for your review earlier and for sharing your tip with others.

You’re welcome guys! Your plugins make life a lot easier for me, it’s the least I could do 😉
