moving menu above slider

So, i have a slider with a customizr theme. I decided to use the maxmenu instead of the default. So now when turned on, this is what it looks like.

using firebug, i add css code top:-10px; which brings it above the slider. Except the fly outs look off now. see link

the submenu is over the main menu. please advise.
