Getting asian emails from wordpress

    Hiya

    Have an email through the domain of my website ie: admin@mywebsite.com

    since putting wordpress on the webspace, the above email inbox is receiving 2 or 3 asian type emails a day

    i have cleared all my web pages, to not have my email admin@mywebsite.com in the source code

    i have blocked all non english emails, and googled this issue to block asian type charsets??

    BUT im still getting these asian email in my inbox grr and who ever has done it has set it up so the email description is all in english

    has anyone ever tackled and fixed this issue??

    Is WordPress actually sending you the emails, or are you just receiving them at that domain?

    Assuming the later, afraid that sounds like spam list you been signed up to (probably by a bot scraping your site when the address was public), you may just have to filter them directly to your spam bin as almost certainly once on the list you are on it for life.

    If however they are being sent BY WordPress that’s a little more serious (rather then just annoying)

    yeah i think they are from bots, that find wordpress packages, and then obviously capture my login address

    could there be holes where bots could uncover the main login email that controls the wordpress

    any good plugins for this?

    Once on a list, you are on it for life, and that email address will get sold on and on, like a virus.

    So if you had the email address public, then it’s to late to use the metaphor “the horse has already bolted from the barn”
