    Hi guys,

I have uploaded WP 4.0 to a sub folder under the public_html, titled “New Site”.

I am re-building a clients old site for them (also on WP) and keeping the old one active whilst I work.

It’s probably something simple – but how do I access the dashboard to begin working on the new site?

    Thank you in advance 🙂

    Danielle

  • I’d put new installation into old site folder.
    Than it’d be like domain.com/newsite/wp-admin
2 important things: new database, noindex nofollow.

Can you please elaborate on this:

2 important things: new database, noindex nofollow.

I mean export old database, create new one and than import data.
So you can work on old database without changing anything in old one.
In settings you can discourage search engines from indexing this site until you switch to new one.

    Hi snecz,

I don’t want any of the old data, I want to start from scratch.

How do I access the wordpress that I installed in a sub directory (after lots of searches, this is what I was directed to do).

    Thank you,
