Horizontal Nav & SubNav
-
Hi there,
Could someone please help me to setup my nav. I just need the major categories horizontal, and the sub-categories underneath. Kindof like how the Admin area looks… nothing fancy, just when you’ve selected your category, it goes to the first sub-category page, and you can see all the other sub categories.
So in a way, kindof like how Digg.com has itself setup with 2 simple horizontal nav bars on top of each other. But this wordpress one would show the categories on top, and the list/pages for each category in the bar below.
I can do the styling later, but i just need to get it looking cool.
Trying to do it like this: Click hereThanks heaps,
Glen

thanks,
how do i start implementing these? very new to this…also, are they automatically updated through wordpress when you create new categories etc?
Hrmmm…the way you implement them is to do a “view source” of the page and use it as a guideline to do what you want to do.
No they are not automatically updated through wordpress…you have to code it in to do that.
is there a link to a tutorial or something similar to do the auto-update code?
Actually it’s more of imagination. For example, some of the themes use the list page function. They put the code inside the navigation code so that when a new page is created, it will generate a new
<li>link and tada!I don’t know of any specific tutorial to point you towards, you could find a theme that does something similar and see what code they use and how they do it…
