• Yea so I’m a new user, and I installed wordpress via WAMP, I just wanted to know if I create a whole blog, how do I transfer it to my godaddy site. Because I saw somewhere it said I had to pay to transfer it, is it true?

  • Some hosts will transfer sites from one server to another for a fee, but I have never heard of being charged to use cPanel to upload a database, some content and a theme.

I guess I’m just not understanding how to use wordpress.org. I’ll just stick to blogger.

WordPress is WordPress, a CMS engine that is much more than a blog even though it can be used for blogging, and wordpress.org simply makes it possible for your WordPress installation to be self-hosted rather than being part of the wordpress.com network that is somewhat like an incubator. To move from wordpress.com to self-hosted is not difficult, but do be sure you are prepared to begin handling *everything* related to your site where wordpress.com had been doing things for you. You can have a self-hosted site without having to spend money, just be prepared to roll up your sleeves in order to do so.

I’m also trying to move my local site to the web, but tis whole site seems to suppose that everyone already knows about codes and computers. I don’t get ANYTHING that’s being said. I checked

But there it just says ‘copy your files’. But from where to where do I have to copy what exactly? Thanks

    Diego
