    Hi, I would like to know how or where I can manage the domain mapping of a WordPress.org site. I am trying to disable or stop the wordpress.org site from mapping to the domain hartleyhouse.org.

    I would like to keep the wordpress site as something like hartleyhouse.wordpress.org and password protected. Is there a place where I can edit the URL?

    I was brought in to work on a client’s site. My apologies if the answer is obvious, but I searched my client’s dashboard (there is no domain mapping plugin), the wordpress.org page, and the forum, and have not found an answer.

    There really isn’t anything like that on WordPress.org.

    A WordPress.org blog is entirely self-contained and self-hosted, it needs that domain to exist in the first place.

    You can move it to another domain following the guide at https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress but there is no blog.wordpress.org alternative to the domain like there is at WordPress.com.

    Do you perhaps mean that you want to put another (non-WordPress) site at hartleyhouse.org instead?

    Thank you, yes the plan is to map a different non-wordpress site to hartleyhouse.org. I could not find domain mapping anywhere in the dashboard. Are there controls for wordpress.org beyond the dashboard?

    I am also wondering what needs to happen to maintain the email addresses at the domain, like example@hartleyhouse.org.

    I think you’re getting confused with WordPress.com, which is an entirely separate entity from WordPress.org. You have a WordPress.org site.

    There is no domain mapping for WordPress.org.

    Your email address is controlled by your hosting provider, not WordPress.

    If you want to put another site at that domain, just delete the WordPress files through your hosting provider and build your new site.

    You should probably make a backup first just in case: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
