Redirecting doesn't work

I wanted to change my permalink from /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html to /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%, without the .html at the back.
At the ‘Request’, I insert /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html and at the ‘Destination’, I insert /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%
Is this correct? Because all my blog post ending with .html is redirecting to error page.
