according to the documentation, there is code I should be adding to my .htaccess file. I don’t have one. anywhere.

It obviously is gumming things up because posts show up on the sidebar just fine, but are not linked to the actual post.

any advice, help, would be appreciated. This is obviously a new, first time install.

  • make one.

OPen up a new file in Notepad. Name it “htaccess.txt”. Uplaod it to your server, rename it “.htaccess”. Done.

I just tried creating an .htaccess file. Something weird happened after that.

I uploaded it as .htaccess.txt and then renamed it .htaccess. The file then disappeared *POOF* gone.

    Wha?

Can someone tell me how to make it not do that or explain why?

Files starting with “.” are, by default, invisible in the *nix world.

Odds are, you need to tell your FTP program to show “invisible” files.
