Making a category a menu page

Hi All,

Sorry if I am being really dumb but I’m new to wordpress and new to building websites!

I’m trying to get a category onto the menu page banner, does anyone know how. My site is http://www.smallerpicture.co.uk and I have created a category which is news and events which I want to replace the rubbish news and events page that I started but I can’t see how to make the category into a page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
