• I am interested in trying to add a feature to my website that allows users to supply a username/password to be granted access to hidden information. I don’t really want to password protect the pages though.

For example: The site that I work on is used to communicate mainly with members of my music ensemble (approximatly 35 who meet only on weekends to rehearse). The members have to submit paperwork, etc. that is tracked by the organization to ensure that it is all turned in.

Well, I would like to have the site setup where people can login to it and see their personal profile. In the profile I would like to be able tell them individual specific information that is not meant for anyone but them.

Any thoughts on what direction I should take?

    Thanks in advance.

  • check the user levels plugin…

it doesn’t display the info in their profiles, but allow you to display info in posts.

so you could set it up so that the public at large has an access level of 0 while the members you want to specify out you could give a level of 1, then any post which you want the specified members to see you would set a post level setting of 1… then the public at large wouldn’t see said post.

Pretty good idea. Thanks for the tip. I didn’t even think about trying that.

    Thanks.
