You should be able to upload files via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard.

Thanks for your reply.
I must have done it wrongly because all I can see is two ugly files on the site here: http://www.tomorrowswomenwirral.org.uk/ in the ‘Recent Post’, October timetable.
If I knew how to remove them I would try to follow your idea of Media | Add New.
It’s a Word document I am trying to upload.
You can delete the files from the Media section. All of your uploads made through the Dashboard are there.
It looks like whatever plugin or theme function you’re using to display the Word files (that viewer is not part of standard WordPress) cannot correctly translate the tables.
Thanks, Jeff
I think I have now deleted the two files from the active site, so I am back to the way it was before I messed it about.
These are monthly timetables with some colour graphics in Word and they usually appear fine on the homepage, so I can only assume that it’s me who has made a mess uploading them although I thought I had followed the Codex steps in ‘To Upload a File in a Post’. I haven’t done it before, not in WordPress anyway.
I don’t think it was any problem during upload. I was able to download them and view them properly, so the uploaded files were just fine.

When I clicked on the October Timetable just to see it in page, I could only see gobbledegook, but it was fine when I downloaded the file.
But if you click on the August Timetable you can see it as it should be without downloading it.
So my predecessor who did August did it correctly!
Hm, interesting. I guess maybe check with them, must be a big difference to come out so strangely.
Yes, I had better ask them about the plugin and theme function.
Many thanks again!
