• My blog uses many audio clips, which I insert into posts by simply stating the URL of the clip on my webspace.

A few months ago they started displaying differently: there is no space after the player (but a lot before), the player is now shifted to the left of the text’s left margin, and at least in Chrome on OS Mavericks the volume slider displays beneath the player, on top of the following text. Eg

Does anyone have any suggestions, preferably as un-technical as possible? I am using Weaver theme (I have no idea how to update to a newer theme without destroying the look of my blog) and my activated plugins include “MediaElement.js – HTML5 Audio and Video”. I installed various other audio plugins at different times but none of them are activated. Thank you.

Deactivating and even deleting a plugin does not guarantee no lasting effects. Some plugins are still partially active even when deactivated, and many (if not most) do not remove their entries from the database when deleted. So, you might try deleting all the deactivated plugins, then deactivating all the others and checking your formatting in the page editor.

Thanks. Do you really mean deactivate all the others? I’ve been hacked twice and don’t want to deactivate my spam blockers.

Also, what do you mean by “page editor”?

I deleted a plugin called MediaElement.js (I can’t remember why I installed it), which seems to have got rid of the annoying volume slider being placed below the player. But the player is still too wide, and still has space before it but not after. Any other ideas for making it look better?

Does anyone else add mp3s to posts by just putting the URL on a line, and have them show up looking nice?
