If I try to upload images using the option “Add Galleries/Pictures” I can choose the images using the Windows explorer. But after pressing “Upload” nothing happens; after some seconds: “Upload complete, 0 images were uploaded”.
But no problem – until last week I could successful use another way:
Manage galleries => create new gallery. Then I can find in the gallery-directory the name of the new created created gallery including a subdirectory “thumbs”. Now I could upload my images using FTP and then “manage galleries” => Check directory for new images. It worked very good.
Since now the process “Check directory for new images” doesn’t work at all. Result: “0 images successful added”.

    Is there any solution?
    Thanks in advance.

Now I found the solution for the second option of upload files (“manage galleries” => Check directory for new images):
I didn’t consider the ‘umlaut’ in the file name,,, sorry.

But the first option I mentioned above in the first post yesterday doesn’t work at all.

    Thanks!

@hadisa – There are still some issues with non-latin characters in file and folder names. When you checked the upload process did you ensure there were only non-latin characters being used?

It were image files like this:
    IMG_1632.jpg (250 KB)
I can follow the upload process depending of the size (…% uploaded).
And then I can for about one second read “100%” and then “0%”.
    Following by the message
    “Upload complete
    0 images were uploaded”

@hadisa – Are you seeing any recent messages related to NextGEN Gallery in your server’s error_log files?

Sorry, but I have not an own server but only webspace on a provider’s server. I called him and he answered that it is not possible for me to see the log files.

There is another thing I would like to ask you about:
If I want to use the “Insert Gallery Window” function, I get instead of the window described in your documention, the Start Page of my blog with the following remark:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /homepages/40/d205907087/htdocs/wsb4530080101/wp-includes/admin-bar.php on line 486

    The next problem:
In your documentation the “Gallery settings” contain a lot of points to change. I have only 7 points available (until “NextGEN Basic TagCloud”)

    Are there any explanations available?

    Thankyou!

@hadisa – That is very unfortunate your web hosting provider will not share their error_log files that may pertain to your site and the services they are providing to you.

As it is, if you are using the “Default” Permalinks structure you might consider something different such as “Post name” or “Month name” as that has often sorted out the issue of your home page appearing in the IGW modal window.

As to the issue with settings, I am not certain what you are referring to. Can you provide any more details?

    Thanks!

@photocrati – sorry for the unexact description of my problems.

    1. I followed your advice concerning the Permalinks – problem resolved!

    2. In the NextGEN Gallery Documentation => MANAGING IMAGES AND GALLERIES => Gallery Settings Page I see about 15 different settings.
In my blog I see only 7 settings.
But when I yesterday posted the question on the behalf of the difference between my 7 settings and the 15 settings in the documentation, I didn’t consider that the other 8 settings belong to the PRO-Version.!

    Thankyou for your help.
By the way, if I have a problem once more – is it possible to attach a screenshot to my post? It makes the explanation of the problem easier.

@hadisa – Great to read the problem has been sorted out.

If you need to share a screen capture it is only possible by using some sort of service where you can share a link to the screen capture. These forums do not provide any method to attach it directly.
