Scan terminated with error

Just updated to the new Wordfence version 5.2.6.
Have tried manual scans, but these have terminated giving the following error messages:[Sep 30 06:59:39:1412060379.259861:2:error] Scan terminated with error: We received an error response when trying to contact the Wordfence scanning servers. The HTTP status code was [502] and the curl error number was [0]
[Sep 30 06:45:07:1412059507.895195:2:error] Scan terminated with error: We received an error HTTP response when trying to fetch binary data from the Wordfence scanning server: [502]
This error is reproduced over the three sites where Wordfence is installed. Scans initiate, and then stop at various points with the same error messages highlighted above.
