    Hello,

I want to start my blog using Bushwick theme. I got to tested it around and I can’t get the Header Size right.

Recommendation says 900X1600. But, whenever I upload my image, on display, the image is cropped badly. While I use larger images (1800X3200) or the recommended dimmensions the cropping is the same.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Could I take a look at your site to see what’s going on directly? Or if your site isn’t public yet, could you provide a link to your header image so I can do some testing with it?

But, whenever I upload my image, on display, the image is cropped badly.

One thing to keep in mind is that the header image in Bushwick does stretch or shrink to fit the viewer’s screen size, so not all images may be fully displayed if you’re on a smaller screen.

    Hello,

I am using theme Twenty Thirteen. I have a custom header however the image appears to be too large for the header space. I edit my image to smaller pixels yet the image is still too large. How do I get my full header image to show?

I apply the testing on an old blog so I guess it is published.

I tested the display on both my laptop and my desktop. My monitor is 22 inches.

So, I could provide my header image but for obvious reasons I don’t want to post a link here 🙂 is there any other way.

Hi AnnAgain – you’re in the theme devoted to Bushwick at the moment. Could you please post in the Twenty Thirteen forum to get help with that theme? Thanks.

Sorry about that Kathryn. Thank you :->

Joh_ts – thanks for providing a link to your site.

Because of the way the header image resizes and stretches at various screen sizes, I’d suggest you choose an image where any key elements (such as the words “Define Dark”) are placed in a more central part of the graphic. That way they are less likely to be cut off at certain screen sizes. The other route to go is to choose more decorative images where the resizing and cropping isn’t going to be worrisome, like the landscape you see in the demo: http://bushwickdemo.wordpress.com/

This is what your site looks like on my screen at 1590 x 1050px.

p.s. just wanted to let you know that these forums are mean for self-hosted folks running WordPress installed on their own hosting. I see that you’re running on WordPress.com – the WordPress.com forums are actually over here: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/ If you have further questions about Bushwick, please post over in the WordPress.com forums – here are some tips for getting help there.

I’m going to lock this thread now but feel free to start a new post there if you need further help.
