WordPress 3.9.2 (Note: Not using 4.0 yet. Is this a problem?)
    Duplicator 0.5.8
    Wampserver 2.5

I managed to successfully “duplicate” a site a few weeks ago. This redirect loop error occurred AFTER I updated to 0.5.8, but I may have done something wrong.

    Installer-log.txt: http://pastebin.com/RmCtT7qY

There’s a “DATA-REPLACE ERRORS (Serialization)” near the bottom of the above file. I assume this is the problem, but after comparing my new database values to the old, it looks like the update succeeded. The new database shows the new URL just fine.

    Other troubleshooting steps I took:
    – Followed the FAQ at http://lifeinthegrid.com/support/knowledgebase.php?article=12#faq-installer
    – My wp-config.php file seems to be fine
    – I tried commenting out and then deleting my .htaccess file with no result
    – I set all plugins to be disabled upon duplication, and I don’t have any redirect plugins installed
    – No cPanel installed (using Wampserver)

    Any suggestions?

I just updated to WordPress 4.0. Same exact error in installer-log.txt. Same “Redirect loop” problem with main site.

Not sure if it’s relevant, but along with using Wampserver to host it on my own machine, I’m using a DynamicDNS service via my domain host in order to change my IP to a DNS.

This may be completely unrelated, but when I use “localhost/wordpress” to view my site, it looks fine. When I use “xx.xxx.xx.xxx/wordpress” or “my.dns.com/wordpress”, several images are missing and the search icon is suddenly a “U”:

Not sure why WordPress deleted this link. Let’s try it again.

    Fixed.

It was my DNS records causing the redirect loop. Cory, you may want to mention this in the FAQ.

In case anyone has a similar issue, here’s how I set up my host records to fix the redirect loop: http://i.imgur.com/uOQ6joR.png

Thanks for the update! So just to validate your DNS was pointed at your old IP?

By default my “@” record was set to “http://gregariousjb.com”, not an IP. That’s how NameCheap.com has it set for everyone at first. Anyone wanting to host WordPress on their computers using WAMP, use this extension, and who also want a pretty DNS instead of an IP may have this issue if they don’t set their DNS settings correctly.

I see… Thanks for posting your work around!
