    my host keeps referring to this as nextgen gallery but I migrated over to nextcellent a while back then this happened today:

    “the problem is being caused by the nextgen gallery plugin
    but just disabling the plugin will not immediately fix the plugin because the bug in the plugin causes too many entries to be added to the wp_options table causing a huge amount of overhead for ever page request”

    After some work at my host:
    “I have trimmed the entries, but it will no doubt continue to happen. I would suggest disabling, upgrading, or finding another gallery plugin.”

    does anything glaring stand out I can do to save this? I am so invested in this gallery format…

    decided to uninstall it and try something else. i had a lot invested in this gallery, but it is nothing but a problem.

    I’ve seen something similar.. need to examine further though to be sure.

    Hi scott4design,
    really sorry about the problems you mentioned.

    I just tested NextGEN AND Nextcellent . In the first one there was an issue producing many entries like you described. I thought it was fixed time ago. That problem never existed on NextCellent.

    What I suspect is the problem in NextGEN generated the entry overhead, then you switched to NextCellent (there is no ‘migration’ procedure) , then entries were deleted. Finally it was assumed the problem was with Nextcellent, because it was there working, even the plugin is not producing that problem.

    What do you think?
