List events form a category

I have a plugin that I need to get the dates of the events in a category of event, but in all the research I have done, are using the global variable:

global $ai1ec_events_helper

But she’s not returning me anything. In another post says that the latest version of this plugin no longer using this global variable.

How can I get the dates of the events through another plugin? Or directly on a page?
