Data source besides Amazon

Can we grab informations from a database besides Amazon’s?
I’m using the plugin to manage a preschool library and I need to enter book descriptions in italian to make it accessible to all the parents.
Amazon is in english so it’s a no, I’m looking at http://www.ibs.it instead, I know Tellico does that since v 1.1.
Should be easy enough or not?
