Postie Plugin Problems

I just installed Postie the posting by email plugin.

However, I am getting weird errors regarding permissions. My install can reach the “wordpress” mysql database I created for it.

But when I try to run the get-mail.php script, I

g#!/usr/bin/php -q The web server cannot write to / please correct the permissions

Can anyone help?
