Cannot give external link to an image

I hope everyone’s fine out there!

I am running a blog (www.mindjugglers.com) and I use some resources for affiliate marketing. Clickbank is one of them.

I tried to use the following method for marketing the products of vendors at Clickbank:

1. I search for the related image on google and upload that image to my WP gallery

2. I insert that image into my post

3. I provide an external link (my affiliate link) to the image

BUT unfortunately it is not working. When I visit my website and hit that image (for testing), instead of opening the affiliate link, the image is not clickable OR the browser opens this – in general,

http://www.mydomain.com/mypost/www.myaffiliatelink.net

And hence, the browser gives a PAGE NOT FOUND ERROR.
