Cache not refreshing on user profile update?

I’m wondering if other folks have had the same issue: I’ve had many users contact me to say their profiles on pages with amr-users-generated lists don’t update, even though the documentation/settings say it’s supposed to. (The “Do re-cache on user update” option.)

Currently my amr cache refresh is set to hourly, but as best I can tell, these pages refresh only manually…perhaps that’s a separate issue, but maybe not.

I do have a caching plugin installed — W3 Total Cache — but it properly presents fresh pages to users who are logged in, which is the case with the users I’m getting grumbles from.
