Template Issue for Single Listing?

First, thanks for the support. I have WP-LISTINGS installed and running, LOVE it and thanks. One issue I’m hoping you can help me with… when I click on a detailed listing, the page template is incorrect. I’m not sure why it’s happening.

My listings page is as follows:

…and works like a champ. When I click on an individual listing, however, I get the following result:

…which is broken. Looks like the page template is not drawing properly, and I’m unsure where to go from here. I really appreciate your help, in advance! Thanks!

You can edit the single-listing.php from the plugin’s /views/ folder and add it to your theme folder where it will be used instead. You may need to customize it based on your theme’s page template structure.

Hi agentevolution_

I found it and am able to edit the single_listing.php file. One quick question before I hack this thing to pieces… I’m using the thesis v1.x theme. I was hoping to have this single listings page look just like the rest of my site. When the normal listing pages render, they have all the thesis scaffolding, nav, sidebar, etc. When the single_page renders, it has none of the header, nav, etc. The sidebar (right sidebar) html renders into the page but the styling is all wonky. My question is…

Shouldn’t there be an easy way to have your single_listing.php file render inside the thesis templating system and inherit the look and feel of the parent theme? Or do I have to manually edit that in a custom single_page.php template?

Before you edit the single-listing.php file, move it to your theme folder so it doesn’t get overwritten in a plugin update.

The single listing template uses the same generic WordPress functions for outputting the header, footer, and sidebar as the archive-listing.php template. So I suspect Thesis is doing something in a non-conventional way on single posts. You’ll need to look at how it’s being done in your theme’s single.php and use the same functions.
