    Hi Christan,

There isn’t a current way to do that (although you could certainly program that).

We’ve got on our roadmap to do two things:

    • Make the calendar month default to the next upcoming event. For example, if you have an event tonight, it would show this month. If the next event is in December, than after tonights event, the Calendar would show December since that is the next event
    • Make the Calendar settable to a particular M/Y

    Hi Quadshot,
    Thanks for your answer.
    I’m thinking out loud now:
Could it be that this is a matter of making the option of the month and / or the year option selected?
And if so: in which file would I have to do that?
I’ve been looking for this possibility today, but I couldn’t find the file in which I could change this.

I think the integrated approaches mentioned above we’re releasing soon will solve this for your issue… Will look for a ‘patch’ in the short term for you though.

Are you in a rush to publish or can you wait a few days for an update?

    Hi Quadshot,
I hate to say it since this is the free version, but I am in a bit of a rush…
I could ask a friend who is more familiar with JavaScript and send you the response.
Also if you need translations: I’m native Dutch and my German is zureichend 😉

    Christan,

If you have a workaround post it here so others can have it as well.

We’re having our dev team look into getting solution above in our next release, which is in the next few days. Until that time I’ll see if there is a ‘kludge’ that we can post here for you.

Re: translations. That is great! Right now one of our developers is working on i18n, who happens to be Italian so he’ll be doing the Italian one first. We’ll be making an open call for translations once that is complete. We’d give credit of course…

    Hey Christan,

In our recent 1.5.x release, we have included this as a feature. Now if you edit the ‘event calendar’ page in the admin, you will see a metabox below the ‘page attributes’ metabox, labeled ‘Calendar Settings’. You can choose from three options: open the calendar to today’s date, open it to the date of the next published event, or specify the date that you want it to open to. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

    Hi Loushou,
Sorry that it took a while for me to respond but I was busy with other work.
The Calendar Settings box is exactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you very very much!!!
All I have to do now is re-enter my translations to Dutch, because I forgot to make a back-up before updating the plug-in…
Like I already told Quadshot: if you ever need Dutch translations: don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll be very glad to help.
    Rgds, Christan
