    Hi πŸ™‚

I am thinking of installing this plug-in and even expanding it further with premium add-ons, however, one question before that…

I have a site running WooCommerce with number of already registered customers whose WP user role is currently set as exactly that – customer.

Now, what I wish to have and achieve (hopefully with this plugin) is to give each customer their own, password protected, customer area page.

My question is – if I install this plugin – would I be able to do this without changing (or adding) existing customers usernames and passwords?

In other words – just like they are logging into their accounts now to make a purchase, would they be able to loggin into their own dedicated customer area pages using the same details?

Or to put it bluntly – how well this plugin works in connection with WooCommerce created users / customers?

I am sure such question was asked previously but if author of this plugin or indeed anyone else could shed some light on this would be great!

    Many thanks in advance!

Kind regards and all the best

    Ogy

    Hi,

Customer Area works with the standard WordPress users and roles. So if WooCommerce uses that (and I think it is the case), then there should be no problem for the customers to use the same login/password.

    Hi Vincent,

    Many thanks for your answer!

WooCommerce adds and uses extra roles to vanilla WordPress installation – Shop Manager and Customer. So they are not as ‘standard’ as such.

Could you please confirm your plugin would work with it?

(WooCommerce is by far the most popular e-commerce plugin so it would be good if you could check the compatibility and how well two plugins work with each other)

Kin regards and all the best!

Yes Customer Area takes any role into account, even the ones created by other plugins.

WOW!! – that sounds amazing and exactly what I need (specially considering all the add-ons which I definitely will be buying if this plugin works with my site)

Just a final question and confirmation if I may:

So if roles created by other plugins are taken into consideration, after installing Customer Area, I will be able to assign private page to already registered WooCommerce customers?

In other words – will Customer Area AUTOMATICALLY pick up and use current usernames and passwords of already registered customers without me needing to change anything?

If so – this would be GREAT and exactly what I need!

Yes. Will work like that. Best is to try the base plugin, it’s free and you can already setup a pretty good private area.

    Sounds simply great! πŸ™‚

I will try the base one and if everything works as expected will most probably purchase package of add-ons.

    Many thanks for prompt replies!

    Hi
I’m building a website for a wholesale company.
This website will have 2 phases of construction: in the first phase I want a customers area when customers can see the catalog and others stuff; I want them to register with some required fileds (for example VAT code etc) and I want that their registration will be confirmed by the administrator.
The second phase will be integrate this with woocommerce for online ordering.
So I need info about woocommerce compatibility; if I install your plugin to manage subscriptions in the first phase, can I integrate woocommerce in the second phase using the existing members?

    Hi,

Should be no problem. Customer Area uses the users as defined in WordPress. What would be wise is that you create your custom fields according to the names used by WooC.
