    Hi,

I just noticed that my galleries have each picture three times:

    1. The original picture in /www/wp-content/gallery/testgalerij/ (for example). Size 800x533px, as specified in the plugin settings.

    2. The thumbnails that are actually being used in /www/wp-content/gallery/testgalerij/dynamic. Size 133x88px, as specified in the plugin settings.

    3. Another set of thumbnails in /www/wp-content/gallery/testgalerij/thumbs that seems not to be used. At least, if I rename the directory there is no different behaviour. Picture sizes also 133x88px.

This is about WP 3.9.2, NextGEN 2.0.66.27 (same behaviour in 2.0.66). The testpage: http://www.bcstar.nl/testpage-nextgen/nggallery.

    My questions:
    – Why this third set?
    – Can I save space and safely remove it in all my galleries?
    – How can I prevent it to be created for any new galleries?

    Thank you for your help.

@henk Barreveld – This is expected behavior for the plugin. The /dynamic/ folder us used for, among other things, over-riding thumbnail image sizes in an individual gallery or album as well as when resizing images after they are uploaded.

I would not recommend removing any of these folders as they will only be created as needed based on the options and functionality of NextGEN Gallery that you use.

    – Cais.
