still cant select database

    Hey all:

    I’ve been getting the “cant select database” error. I’ve read some of the threads on the topic. So I went in to MySQL database and changed my user name and password because the user name was 9 characters long and I thought that might be the problem. Now I’m being told “the user name and password are incorrect, or we can’t contact the server at ‘localhost’.”

    Is there another place I have to set the user name/password besides the MySQL database?

    Try flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches.

    After 8 days, I finally succeeded in getting my blog back and running. I had to go into MySQLdatabase and make sure I added user to database. Then I opened the wp-config.php file in file manager and changed the DB user to database_user name and it worked!
