Hi, I have updated to wp 4.0, but it didn’t work right so I downgraded to an older version, but it somehow reset the permalink, according to my webhosting tech support. He said I need to address it to WP folks. I have updated back to 4.0 thinking it was that, but updating back to 4.0 didn’t fix the problem. Thanks

  • What permalink? Do you mean all the permalinks, or just one in particular? Have you checked your .htaccess file?

I think I fixed it thanks!

Good! But its best to let us know how it got fixed, so others in the same situation can benefit. Glad you got it sorted out.

Please post more details about how you resolved this. I have had the same issue on 2 websites using two different themes. Links to all pages (except home) go to 404 error page–not the theme 404 page, but the original 404 page of my web host.

    Hi,
Actually it was quite easy. I went into the dashboard and went into setting. It will give you bunch of options and one of those is permalinks. Basically what happened with mine is that even though the setting on the permalinks section was on the right option, it wasn’t being recognized. So I switched to another option, saved the setting, returned to the original option and saved it again. I hope that helps.
