Hide pages so only subscribers can view

    I’ve found a few plugins that will password protect pages and do other similar functions, but I’ve never found one that does this.

    I’d like to create pages that don’t show up in the menu unless you are a subscriber, and that are only viewable if you are logged in as a subscriber. I don’t want the people who view these pages to have any kind of editor access so it has to be subscriber.

    Anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance.

    My own plugin, jonradio Private Site, does most of what you are talking about automatically. You may have to hand-craft your menus to hide pages from those who are not logged in.

    Thanks, but one of the problems I’m having is that it’s a fairly large site with pages changed quite often so I don’t want to have to manually update the menu every time I add, rename or remove a page.

    Anyone have any idea how I could do this without having to manually manage the menu?

    A lot depends on whether the vast majority of your Pages are intended to be viewed by All or just by Subscribers. You would then either manually build the small menu, or manually exclude the small number of pages from the menu.

    Frankly, given the size you mention, I’d be more inclined to look at using a WordPress Network of two Sites, one Public and one Private, though you may want to make it look like one site to the Subscriber, which would require some sort of Plugin or Coding to build the combined Menu of the two Sites.
