Can comments be exported?

    I was hoping to export all of my posts, comments, categories and blogrolls when I exported from wordpress.com onto a webhosting (yahoo) and wordpress 2.1.

    The posts exported creating a separate entry for each and every photograph.

    Comments didn’t export, nor did my blogrolls.

    Categories kind-of exported, it created a weird html code for each category, and every entry within a category got it’s own messed up category (ie. if I had 4 posts with the tag Ireland, it exported to 4 separate categories.

    Delete all that junk and start over.

    Since you’re at Yahoo, you’re not current with WordPress. So, go get the WordPress Import plugin.

    If you read the instructions and properly install it, you’ll now be able to do a proper import of the export from your .com blog.
