I get this msg after install – “Thanks for using Recipe Hero! Please re-save your permalinks to get started””

    1. Can you please elaborate regarding this?
    2. If I have to change the settings to “custom structure”, and place recipe as a built in key inside the URL, what about other site pages that are not recipes? How the URL for them will look, and how I will handle this pages?
    3. I think its a crucial to add a page regarding this in your docs. I’m an experienced developer and I am confused.

    Thank you.

    Hey Neo,

Thanks for trying out Recipe Hero πŸ™‚
Sorry for the confusion! Basically, as the plugin add s anew custom post type to WordPress, it’s recommended to re-save the permalink settings so you don’t have any 404s. It won’t affect anything on your site but doing so just makes sure that you don’t get 404s for no reason.

I wouldn’t change any of these settings on the permalinks page, as those affect all of WordPress.

All recipes will have their own ‘recipe’ part in the permalink, without you changing any of the settings on this page.

Sorry for the confusion, I’ll definitely add something to the documentation explaining this a bit better.

    Thanks πŸ™‚

What do you mean, just re-saving the page as it is? Just submit the form?
This is really confusing man. Till now I’m not sure if this is really what you mean…

    Thanks for your support! πŸ™‚

    Hey Neo,

Really, sorry it’s for confusing – I didn’t mean for it to be. Just re-save the page as it is – don’t change any settings. Just submit the form πŸ™‚

I’ll give it a chance. Currently i`m using easyrecipe, but I thinking on migrating to other plugin and yours is a strong candidate.

I appreciate it πŸ™‚ The plugin is actively developed and supported. I’m constantly trying to add new features to it and have a lot of big plans for it!

Plans like what? (if you can share… :))

Of course! πŸ™‚ You can see a list of current issues / planned enhancements here – github.com/bryceadams/Recipe-Hero/issues/

Those are only a few. I really want to make this the best plugin for Recipes so there is also a lot of ‘extensions’ planned. These are small add-on plugins that work with it to give extra more specialised / advanced features. Those are coming soon, but really I want to focus on getting the core of the plugin to be perfect first! πŸ™‚

    Thanks!

I’m really confused with this as well. Normally my perma links are what’s written in my post title, but occasionally I change them for SEO purposes. So I’m not sure if I should just select the default, post name or custom structure. Help! I was hoping to test this tonight with one blog, and then if successful, install it on my other more popular blog.

    Can someone help please???

I think I’ve figured it out. Thanks
