Checkbox not working on custom registration

    Dear all,

    I am writing to seek help regarding a custom use of the checkbox on a registration form. I checked the forum and I did not find an answer so I decided to post it.

    First of all, I’d like to mention that I am a novice regarding wordpress and I might miss something obvious. Sorry for that.

    My problem:
    I implemented a checkbox via the

    <label><input type="checkbox" name="mc4wp-subscribe" value="1" /> Subscribe to our newsletter?</label>

    The textbox appears perfectly. However, even if checked, nothings happen after successful registration. I checked in the API log and this is no error either. I really do not know what to do.
