Article database plugin?

I need to create an article database with WordPress as its user interface. Users should need to upload abstracts, assign to several categories (tags), dynamically add new categories, add keywords, type author, faculty, date and so on. Searches should also be easy.

Any ideas? Is there any plugin that comes even close to this?

That semantic web thing sounds interesting, although I know very little about it.
