I can confirm this bug. The default image I added previously was lost after updating to version 1.5.5 and when trying to add a new one it just disappeared. I checked the generated HTML and the “og:image” entry is indeed missing!
I reverted the plugin to version 1.5.4.2 and now the “og:image” entry is generated correctly. I’m glad that I had a backup 😉
Yes, there is a bug. The image url won’t save in Social > Facebook tab.
Also please check Social > Facebook > Frontpage settings > Title field input AND Social > Facebook > Default settings > Image URL input.
+1 on title and image value. Description og tag persists and shows correct in header source.
BTW, Added functionality is awesome! 🙂
Regards,
Gerard.
The “Image URL” field isn’t saving for me either. When I fill it in and hit “Save Changes”, the URL disappears.
Also experiencing this issue for both fields in the “Social” section.
I experienced the same.
Fortunately Yoast fixed it on GitHub:
https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/1424
I made the changes he advised and all works great now.
If you have any difficulties/issues with modifying the plugin’s php I’ll be glad to help.
Ciao
Hopefully the fix finds its way into another release soon.
Is there a release date planned for the update? … Manually updating all customer websites from a git fix doesn’t seem lik a good idea 🙂
Woops, sorry … just noticed them 🙂
