Just curious…why not make it a plugin for 1.2 which will be a final release later this week?

Well, when 1.2 is final, I’ll do an update 🙂
I’m not sure I’m buying that it will be finished “later this week” though 😉

Actually, the hack for 1.2 is already done. The problem is, the hack relies on changes made to edit-form-advanced.php and admin-header.php. So, any update will break the hack. That’s why I wanted to wait for a more stable version of 1.2.
However, having said all that, here’s a 1.2 version of the hack based on the 5-14 nightly if someone wants to try it out. Install and uninstall instructions are included in the readme. BTW: The WYSIWYG editor includes a toggle so that you can switch back and forth between text and wysiwyg mode.
