Child Theme and slider function

Hello, I made a child theme for Bota so I could make some small modifications. That is OK to do with this theme isn’t it? (Or is there a copyright trouble on that.)Perhaps the only way to get help is to buy the theme?

Anyway, all worked fine except the Featured slider for the Custom Home Page. The images just displayed in column down the page and they were not responsive anymore as they stayed full size. Do I need to move a php file into my child directory or something like that for it to work?

Meanwhile, I have switched my site out of the child theme (which is making me uncomfortable), so you won’t see the problem in action but if anyone has advice, thank you.
