    Greetings,

I have updated a blog (http://mno.gizmecano.net/) to the last version 1.24 this morning, but the localization (french) doesn’t seem to work correctly.

Previously, I had modified some core files directly (comments, content, footer, functions, etc.) in order to render some translated expressions, but the update naturally has erased my changes. Now, I would like to avoid making again these changes by using your own translation.

I checked my installations of this theme (local and remote) and I have not found the problem yet. I would be grateful for all tracks allowing to solve this localization issue (without having to edit the code directly if possible).

    Regards,

    Thanks for using Ignite!

I’d like to first make sure this is an issue specific to Ignite and not your WordPress install. Can you try switching to another French translated theme and see if the localization works?

    Hi!

I also have problems with the French localisation. I switched to Twenty Fourteen, and I didn’t have them, so it seems the problem is with Ignite.

The date is an unholy mix of French and English, and on the latest post, you can find “This is the newest post” instead of “Ceci est l’article le plus rΓ©cent”.

You can see it on the latest post on my site : http://kallikrates.net/

    Thanks,
    K

    Hi K,

Sorry for the state of the translations. We are aware of the dates and will be addressing them in the next version of Ignite/Ignite Plus.

We are also currently working on an updated French translation.

    Hi Ben,

I’ll wait for the update πŸ™‚

    Thanks,

Version 1.29 is now available. The dates have been localized, and you can change the format of the date from your general settings menu.

We are still working on an updated French translation and hope to add that in the next release.

    Thanks for your patience.

Thanks, it’s much better πŸ™‚ I’m still kind of annoyed that I can’t use ordinals in French, but it seems to be a PHP problem, so nothing you can do about it.

Unfortunately, on the front page of my blog, it seems that all the dates on the posts have switched to today’s date. When you click on a post, the breadcrumbs are right, but again the date just over the title is today’s.

Okay, glad the dates are looking better.

The posts returning today’s date is quite odd. Do you have any plugins installed? If so, could you deactivate them and check if this fixes the dates?

I’m going to keep looking into a solution for this.

UPDATE: you can ignore my previous post. I’ve just released version 1.31 of Ignite Plus, and it should fix the issue with the dates.

Please let me know if the update works for you, thanks!

    That fixed it, thanks πŸ™‚

    Greetings,

Busy lately, I haven’t had enough time to thank you for the latest updates. While there are still two or three residual errors (“This is the newest post” string, for example), the theme is quite usable with the French localization. Thank you.

That’s great to hear, thanks for taking the time to comment and let me know πŸ™‚

    Greetings,

I have been facing some kind of strange behaviour of date format,I set date and time formats, everything is simple english, however, only date is returning on published post.if I keep custom format then post is returning time as 12:00 or some thing like for all published posts.

I am using ignite plus latest version.

    any solution for my problem

    Hi Nav,

Thanks for notifying me of this issue. I hadn’t considered adding the timestamp to the date as well which is why it isn’t currently supported.

I put together a child theme, and after some testing it looks like it has fixed the issue. You can download the Ignite Plus child theme here.

Here are the steps for activating the child theme:

    1. Visit your site’s dashboard
    2. Go to the Appearance menu
    3. Click on the “Add New” button at the top of the page
    4. Click on the “Upload Theme” button at the top of the page
    5. Click on the “Choose File” button
    6. Select the ignite-plus-child.zip file you downloaded from the link above
    7. Click “Install Now”
    8. Once the page reloads, click the blue “activate” link

If you’re using a custom menu, you will need to re-select its location from the Menus page.

Please visit a few posts once active and let me know if it is working well for you.
