Spam registrations

I’ve been getting dozens of new registrations on a daily basis in spite of having WP-reCAPTCHA installed. It seems to be working, I can manually fail to register by leaving the field blank, or putting in different/random characters in the captcha field, but somehow I’m getting a ton of new registrations that all appear to be fake.

This has only started happening recently, although it appears that others have had the problem for longer

Since it is closed, I cannot add my own voice to it, so I’m creating my own thread.

It appears that the spammers have developed some way to bypass, or know what codes to put in when creating these registrations.

Any solution to this issue would be helpful.
