Blurred Pictures

    Hello all

    I wanted to import all the posts of my old blog http://www.rundumschoen.org (blogspot) to my new site http://www.fromtipstotoes.ch (wordpress, hosted on checkdomain.com). I did this with the plugin “blogger importer”. At the beginning everything was fine, the upload has started and I saw the first few posts on my new blog. Then, as soon as the plugin imported the media files, there went something wrong. All the pictures of the posts went blurry, except the first picture, which now was double. After this failure I deleted all my posts / all the media files and did the whole procedure again. But same thing. In my media database the pictures look well and not blurry at all.

    I can’t find any answers in the www and because I’m on the verge to become despair, I have to write in here.

    It would be great if anybody could help me!

    It looks like the first images in your posts are being used as the featured image, possibly as a feature of the theme. Then, the post is displaying a smaller version of the same image at the top of your posts. Unfortunately it looks like the second image is being scaled up from something like 300×199 to 725×487. This is why they look blocky and pixelated.

    On your original site, images were being displayed from photobucket whereas the WordPress importer has imported those images into the media library and is using a smaller version.

    I think it’s going to be a case of working your way through the posts and editing the content. Maybe add those first images as featured images in the post editor and removing them from the body of the posts themselves.

    Does that make sense?

    I have another blog on wordpress (which I don’t host myself) with another theme and there I already imported my posts from http://www.rundumschoen.org – and it worked. Also, when I import the post from this “second wordpress blog” to my new blog http://www.fromtipstotoes.ch via “WordPress Importer” Plugin everything was fine! Because of that I don’t think the Theme use them as a featured image or something like this. But unfortunately with this way, I’ll lose all my traffic for google searc. So I have to import all the posts directly from my old blog on blogger to the new one on wordpress. Do you understand what I mean?

    I think you’re right and the only solution is to working my (looong) way trough all the posts.. 🙁
