Galleries only show a single image

After setting up the gallery(s)through the gallery window on a page only a single image will display. I have tried different galleries on multiple pages with the same result. I have also tried most of the different settings for display, etc within the Gallery Window with the same result. Only a single image is visible in the gallery.
