• Hi,

I have created two websites for my clients. I am trying to figure out how to give them the reins and giving them the entire website.

I exported the file on phpMyAdmin, and tried exporting all of the content on FireZilla, but the export never finishes as the “server gets disconnected”.

I was wondering what other ways I can hand off the website to them and what they need to do to make it live.

    Thanks in advance

  • i always add them as users, but don’t give them admin rights… I retain my own user account with admin rights so i can always step in if i need to.

Hi Lornabliss, thanks for your response.
However, if I add them as users, it’s technically not their website and they can’t change anything right? The problem is that they also want to change the domain url so in order to do that, it has to be theirs entirely right?

you can give them admin rights too so they have the reins. but i like keeping myself on there just in case… they inevitably mess something up and email you to get on and help them fix it.

at any rate, have they already purchased the domain they’re going to use? And do you know who is hosting that domain? I’ve had a lot of luck with hostgator.com, if that helps.

I wonder if this would help you?
