Link preview plugin with no external connections?

We would like to enhance our WordPress powered website with link preview images, but our privacy policy forbids tracking cookies and all other user tracking. Hence, we cannot use link preview services.

We would need something that’s local only and refreshes its previews weekly using wp-cron.

Any ideas?
