Genesis doesn't hold formatting

I am using the Genesis theme and am not technical. It’s always been annoying that the formatting for media won’t “hold” (it places everything left no matter what you select) but now it won’t hold my returns (add lines) either. I have tried different browsers and different computers. I have upgraded to the latest update. Please help! Thank you!!
